When our globe was young and
man was new, this giant dragon
fly with the two-foot wingspread
was one of the world's few bug
killers. Without her, and others
of her family Libellulidae, mankind
might never have gotten a
start. Instead, the insects probably
would have taken over.
From insect-devouring dragon
flies of a quarter billion years
ago to the modem insecticides
of Monsanto Chemistry, the
war on predatory insects continues.
Each year sees new gains made
as science adds more weapons
to the arsenal against insects.
And every gain is important to
mankind, for there is an estimated
loss of well over a billion
dollars a year from insect-bone
diseases and from insect damage
to food crops, stored products,

An interesting Vintage Ad, especially since what we have learned about insecticides since this ad was produced in 1946.

We mat and frame original, vintage magazine ads...they are in good condition, but may not be perfect as they are many decades old. Frame outside dimensions are 15" x 12", and matted ad is approximately 9-5/8" x 6-5/8" (could be slightly different, depending on ad).
Frames and vintage ads are actual as shown, and mat is computer generated for online viewing. Actual mat is custom cut for each individual ad and mat color will be similar to the colors shown on the website. “Travel Route 3 Scan” watermark is placed on the ad for online viewing only, and is not part of the final product.
