A jet of pure oxygen enters a steelmaking furnace . . .
as it hits the surface of the molten metal, the temperature surges
upward. In one quarter the time it used to take, impurities are
burned out and the steel is ready for pouring. This dramatic process
has revolutionized steelmaking during the last few years by getting
more steel out of the same furnaces . . . steel so necessary for building
bridges and skyscrapers, or for making washing machines,
automobiles, and the endless number of other useful things you
need in everyday living.
Some steel mills use as much as 24 million cubic feet of
oxygen a day! That's why a dependable supply of oxygen is so
critical. Union Carbide meets the need by building and operating
LINDE oxygen plants right on the site of the steel mill. The steelmaker
then gets a continuous flow of oxygen by turning a valve.
For more than fifty years, Union Carbide has worked
with the steel industry in developing the techniques and skills
required to use oxygen in steel production. The people of Union
Carbide are constantly searching for new materials and better
ways of doing things in meeting the steel needs of tomorrow.

A great Vintage Ad!
You pick your frame color, and you pick your mat color. We will mat and frame your Vintage Ad per your request and send it to you promptly. All you have to do is remove it from the box and hang it on the wall in your home, office, garage, man cave, or showroom!
We mat and frame original, vintage magazine ads...they are in good condition, but may not be perfect as they are many decades old. Frame outside dimensions are 15" x 12", and matted ad is approximately 9-5/8" x 6-5/8" (could be slightly different, depending on ad).
Frames and vintage ads are actual as shown, and mat is computer generated for online viewing. Actual mat is custom cut for each individual ad and mat color will be similar to the colors shown on the website. “Travel Route 3 Scan” watermark is placed on the ad for online viewing only, and is not part of the final product. Back side of Vintage Ad is glued to backing paper so that it continues to display flat over time. Here is what you will receive:
