This great World War II era Vintage Ad was printed for the October, 1941 issue. Although America was not yet at war, Europe was...and we only have a limited number of these hard to find advertisements available.

1941 looks at 1916
THINGs have changed a lot in 25 years
and yet there is much that is the same.
In 1916 it was Preparedness; in 1941,
National Defense. But now the scale is
bigger, the pace faster. There was pressure
on the telephone business then. The
pressure is infinitely greater now. New
training camps; new aviation fields; new
munitions plants-all need telephones.
Every one is moving faster and when a
Nation hurries it does it by telephone.
The Bell System spent 94 millions on
new construction in 1916. It is spending
more than 42o millions in 1941.
The entire Bell System organization
is giving "first call" to defense. We believe
you would want it that way.

We mat and frame original, vintage magazine ads...they are in good condition, but may not be perfect as they are many decades old. Frame outside dimensions are 15" x 12", and matted ad is approximately 9-5/8" x 6-5/8" (could be slightly different, depending on ad).
Frames and vintage ads are actual as shown, and mat is computer generated for online viewing. Actual mat is custom cut for each individual ad and mat color will be similar to the colors shown on the website. “Travel Route 3 Scan” watermark is placed on the ad for online viewing only, and is not part of the final product.
