lf it's quieter than an Evinrude
-it isn't running!
It took 40 years to make an Evinrude as quiet
as it is today. It seemed like every time we
got rid of one kind of noise we uncovered
another.
We started way back in 1922 by burying
the exhaust underwater. This was great for
people on shore, but it didn't do much for
people in the boat.
Their big problem was vibration which
turned the boat into a giant sounding board
for engine noise. The motor cover rattled,
the steering handle tingled, everything in
the boat jiggled.
Our engineers finally licked the vibration
problem by floating the powerhead in rubber
mounts. Then they went to work on the
motor itself. First they "tuned out" air intake
noise. Then they eliminated gear chatter and
whine. Next they redesigned the motor cover
and insulated it to deaden “talking" surfaces.
Finally they sound-sealed the motor
to the waterline to get rid of all the noise
that couldn’t be absorber, buried, filtered,
deadened, isolated, or trapped.
Most of the noise is still there -inside.
The difference is that you don't hear it.
Nowadays, the only time you hear an
Evinrude running is when other motors
aren't.
Or, to put it another way: ''If it's quieter
than an Evinrude-it isn't running!"

We mat and frame original, vintage magazine ads...they are in good condition, but may not be perfect as they are many decades old. Frame outside dimensions are 15" x 12", and matted ad is approximately 9-5/8" x 6-5/8" (could be slightly different, depending on ad).
Frames and vintage ads are actual as shown, and mat is computer generated for online viewing. Actual mat is custom cut for each individual ad and mat color will be similar to the colors shown on the website. “Travel Route 3 Scan” watermark is placed on the ad for online viewing only, and is not part of the final product. Back side of Vintage Ad is glued to backing paper so that it continues to display flat over time. Here is what you will receive:
